How to open a TRDR account online?

To open an account online, you can sign up using your mobile number on our website. You will receive an OTP to your number and you can get started by entering that to verify your mobile number. You can then continue with the process.
iIf you have the soft copy of all the required documents before you get started, it should be done in under 7 mins.
How to sign up for TRDR?
Kindly note that the sign up process is best done on a PC - desktop/laptop browser with a decent camera (you will need to click a selfie as part of your signup process).
Incognito mode on your browser may not allow you to complete some of the steps, so please sign up using normal mode.

It is actually a breeze and should be done in 7 mins or less.
Step 1: Mobile number verification đ˛


Step 2: Email verification đ§
Enter your first and last name and your email ID (you will receive an OTP on your email)



Step 3: KYC - ID & Address Proof đ´

As part of the requirement for KYC, please keep the PAN and Aadhaar number handy as you will need to enter it. You would also need to keep the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar with you as you will receive an OTP to confirm.
The DigiLocker integration allows us to fetch and verify address (via Aadhaar) and ID (via PAN). If you do not have a DigiLocker account, do not worry, it gets created during this process.


Once the Aadhaar is verified by entering the OTP you receive on your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, you will be taken the screen to enter your PAN and verify. In most cases you will be automatically redirected to the next page in the sign up flow.
Step 4: Upload soft copy of PAN Card đ

Upload a soft copy of your PAN card, ideally an image file (png, jpg).
Step 5: Enter Personal Details đ¤
You will notice here that the fields: full name, gender, date of birth and PAN will be automatically filled as it fetches these from the PAN data collected via the DigiLocker KYC done in Step 3.
You would only need to manually update the Marital Status field.

Step 6: Enter Additional Details âšī¸
You will need to provide some additional data like Mother's Name,
You will notice your Father's Name is automatically filled as it fetches this from your PAN data in Step 3.

Step 7: Upload soft copy of Cancelled Bank Cheque đ
Note: image file below 5mb preferred.

Note: If you do not have your cancelled bank cheque handy, you could alternatively upload your bank statement or the first page of your bank passbook for reference.
Step 8: Enter Bank Details đĻ
Note: This is your primary bank account that will be linked to your demat account. The cancelled cheque you uploaded previously should have the same details you enter here.

It is mandatory to link the bank account with the Demat account. You will only be allowed to add funds to invest from this bank account. All bonuses, dividends etc., earned by your securities will be credited to this account.
When you enter the IFSC code here, it will display the branch details below that in blue color, please ensure it is entered correctly.
When you click the NEXT button, it verifies your bank details.
Verification here include 2 steps:
8.1) Does a Penny Drop (Re. 1 is credited to the account entered here), and it is able to fetch all details linked with that bank account.
8.2) Checks if the name for this bank account closely matches the name on your PAN.
Step 9: Upload soft copy of your signature on a small white sheet đ

Note: This is to insert your sign across multiple pages of the Account Opening Form.
Step 10: Capture a Selfie đ¤ŗ
Note: ensure your camera quality is decent and your face in very clear in the photo and you are looking straight into the camera. Kindly avoid dim light or any other props in front of your face.


If you feel the Selfie has not come out well the first time and you look weird or funny in it, please retake as many times as you wish before submitting.
When you click CONFIRM, we carry out a step called Face Match. This is to ensure the person whose details we have captured as part of the TRDR sign up process and the person in this Selfie is the same. Â
Note: This Selfie is compared with the photo you had taken for your Aadhaar card application. đŦ
Step 11: Share Location đ
Note: ensure the location setting on your browser is set to on during this step. If not already done, you would be notified to change settings and Allow access. Â

If you are using the Chrome browser, you could follow these steps mentioned here to allow Location access.
Step 12: Review Account Opening Form and eSign đ

You will be able to scroll through the Account Opening form with data filled in from the details provided during the sign up process.
Please review it and if you are ready, complete the eSign process. You will be redirected to the NSDL page and will need to enter you Aadhaar Number followed by the OTP you receive to complete this step. Â

One the online sign up process is complete, it takes between 24-48 hours to have your account up and you will receive an email with the account opening details. You will get the new Demat + Trading Account through a SEBI Registered Stock Broker - Federal Capital Markets Limited.
